It Is Not the Homosexual Who Is Perverse, But the Society in Which He Lives
Germany / 1971 / Length: 67
Director: Rosa von Praunheim
With: Bernd Feuerhelm, Luzi Kryn
Language: German with Hebrew subtitles
Young Daniel moves from the provinces to Berlin, where he becomes immersed in the relationships and consumer culture of the gay scene. Eventually, he encounters a political commune calling for collective struggle rather than isolation. Rosa von Praunheim's provocative, satirical film challenges both heteronormative society and the complacency of the gay bourgeoisie.
